Vytex™ is the new Latex

VytexDon't you just hate it when you've spent several hours shimmying your way into that Latex body suit, only to find out that you were allergic to Latex?

Well relax, because Vytex™ is here!

Vytex™ is being billed as "the new Latex". It's basically a non-allergenic form of Latex. According to Vystar Corporation, the maker of Vytex™, natural rubber Latex, which comes from the Hevea brasiliensis tree, contains a number of proteins that cause minor to serious allergic reactions. Estimates run as high as 17% of healthcare workers, who use latex gloves, find themselves with latex allergies due to these proteins.

Vystar Corporation claims to have developed a novel, patented method for the deactivation of the antigenic proteins in liquid natural rubber latex that involves the quasi-sequestration of these proteins. Vystar believes that this method "denatures" the proteins by altering the stereochemistry of their structures thus reducing the ability to generate an immune response.

Well, I suppose any time you can work in the word "quasi-sequestration" you've got to give it some credit.

Note that Vytex™ is not the same as Vytex. There's actually Vytex™, the rubber latex alternative mentioned here, and then there's Vytex the brand of windows and doors. The two are apparently unrelated.

Great information. I know many folks that have just discovered they are allergic to latex. I think this will help them!
