Accentra PaperPro 1000 Stapler

by Steve
Saturday, August 13, 2005

Accentra PaperPro 1000The selling point behind this stapler is that it can staple up to 20 sheets of paper with the push of a single finger.

It's actually a spring-loaded staple gun, in the form of a handheld desk stapler. When the handle is pressed, it interacts with the level, storing power in the springs, which in turn lifts up the strike plate to fire off a staple.

The company was just recently awarded six patents on the technology, which they dub, "Spring Energized Desktop Stapler".

  • They sell these at Staples branded with the "Staples" brand name.

It's a shame that they're cheapo plastic. They should have licensed the technology to Swingline so we could get a quality product, because it is a really good idea.

  • Nice idea, it seems like most desk staplers max out at maybe a dozen pages before giving up.

  • First used at IAAP Convention & Education Forum vendor show 7/05. Ordered several desktop and hi capacity models. My people love these....have reordered twice.

  • Check out the new PaperPro Prodigy at Office Max and Office Depot. It has a zinc housing. It's way better than the 1000.

  • I love, love, love this stapler. I needed something heavy duty because staplers don't last too long in my classroom--the kids are too rough. Everyone loves how easy and powerful the stapler is.
