Move over Hummer, 'cause there's a new "dawg" in town.
The Rodedawg is a new 4x4 lineup of vehicles marketed and distributed by Rodedawg International Industries, Inc. The Rodedawg is an amphibious vehicle, allowing it to travel over water and land.
The Rodedawg is actually made by Beijing Automotive Works, Ltd., a Chinese manufacturer. The Chinese military has been using this particular vehicle for years. Rodedawg International recently won a contract to distribute it to consumer markets, effectively making it a "Chinese Hummer".
This urban-assault vehicle has a 5-speed transmission, puts out about 91hp at 3,600 RPMs, with a top speed of about 70mph.
The company plans to market the vehicle initially at some 50 shopping malls throughout the U.S., Mexico, Central America, Canada, and South America, and expects to expand to 200 shopping malls by the end of 2005.
Rodedawg International says that their new vehicle doesn't have any competition, because...
...seventy thousand dollar boat will not perform on land, and a seventy-five thousand dollar vehicle like the "Hummer" surely will not swim in the water.Rodedawgs come in three styles, the SUV, the Truck, and the Convertible. You'll be able to get one for about $50,000.00. And because the quality is top-notch Chinese, you'll get a full 1 year warrantee.

It is probably considered amphibious because it sinks like a rock. I doubt it will every meet US Fed or Cal emissions standards nor safety standards. My god, the Willys Jeep in WWII had a 4 cylinder go devil engine that put out 60 hp. We need to leave the chinese crap in china and let them fill up their land fills and risk their safety with lead etc.
