The Welfare Board Game is back! Banned by the government back in the '80s, the game entitled, "Public Assistance" is shipping once again. It goes something like this...
- Start out by collecting your $500.00 welfare check. Now, roll the dice to see where you land.
- Yes! You just picked up an out-of-wedlock child. This means the working folks are required to pay you an extra $200.00 a month!
- Now, decide if you want to play that $200.00 on the horse races, or the daily lottery. Ok, you chose to bet $200.00 on the ponies.
- Oh no you lost! Don't worry though. You can earn that money back on the Saturday Night criminal activity track.
- You roll the dice, getting new instructions. Ooooo! Busted by the cops!
- That means you lose a turn, go back to the first of the month, and collect another $500.00!

Wow,I never ever heard anything like this in all my years. I think it's kind of cool for the on line buyers only. Yes it might put down every body that is on welfare, but I can't help it. It is something that I myself would be interested in playing.(Just for laughs only)!
Was looking in a cabinet and found an original one of these games. Think the kids lost some of the money years ago. Googled it to see if there were any still around.
Uh, no. The game was never banned. You've been fished in by a Freeper internet rumor.
Many retailers declined to sell the game, resulting in a lawsuit by the game makers. The suit was summarily dismissed as baseless.
So, the makers started to print on the box that it was banned in the '80's, even on games made in the '90's. This was a sales ploy and source of the rumor.
You should have done a whole five minutes of research before being so gullible.
whoever reads this!
