Takara Co. Ltd. has a new product out called, "Can of Words". It's a can of dirt with a bean seed planted into it. You water it regularly, and in about five days a seedling emerges with a message emblazoned on it.
The company uses a laser to scribe short messages on the seeds. When it sprouts, the permanently tattooed baby leaf expands to reveal the message.
They're marketed as gifts.
Can of Words comes in four different messages:
- I Love You
- Thank you
- Good Luck
- Get Well

This is a very novel idea that works extremely well. I was given one by a Japanese collegue. Very impressive.
My neighbor gave each of my family members one of these plants. Very cool, still can't figure out what the plant is though.. help me out on that one, please?
Wow, it would be amazing if they did custom bean engraving.
if you actually read the instructions that come inside the can, it states that it is a Sword Bean plant - Canavalia Gladiata
I gave my husband this plant. Weve ben watering it for 12 days, and nothing is happening. Could it be a dud?
I know it says not to eat the plant, but is it toxic?
Cool, another cool plant is the TickleMe Plant. It actually MOVES when you tickle it. Even the branches move when Ticked! It's a must have for kids of all ages. They were easy to grow from the kits they sell. Check out this short video
