Tofu that Tastes like Human Flesh

HufuHufu is the name of a tofu-based product designed to resemble the taste of human flesh. Billed as the "Healthy Human Flesh Alternative", it's designed to provide connoisseurs of people-parts with a legal way to please their palates.

The Hufu website provides a variety of recipes that originally called for human flesh, but now uses hufu as a replacement.

So what does human flesh taste like? According to the website:
If you've never had human flesh before, think of the taste and texture of beef, except a little sweeter in taste and a little softer in texture. Contrary to popular belief, people do not taste like pork or chicken.
The makers are also planning to create similar products, "Hufu Healthy Hearts" and "Hufu Doctor Lecter's Liver".

  • Is it such a strange thought that an animal would eat its own specie? Because it happens rather often. Daily. Maybe even every hour on the hour.

    Regardless, I can believe that one would be curious enough to freely wonder what it is the meat of ones own kind taste like. And, yes, there are still cultures where human is in fact still part of meals. So, why the heck not?

    As for it just being a cheap knock off, I'm sure that the creators either tried or had cannibalistic testers in order to accurately duplicate the product. I say more power to them.

    I only wish I had heard of it before they stopped making it.

  • Does anyone know if they have "baby" flavor? Usually, after age 30, human meat become tougher and less sweet. Baby meat, on the other hand, tastes even better than teenager! It's like the veal of humans!

  • I'd eat it if it's vegan. It's not actual human, so who cares? If it's a hoax, it's purpose is probably to get people to think about what it is they're really eating. Like any animal's flesh is more revolting to another?   • Nobody got it? This is probably the ONE THING you can say to make tofu sound interesting. Chicken flavour tofu tastes like ... nothing. Beef flavour tofu tastes like ... nothing. And probably, hufu also tastes like nothing, but at least you'll have something to talk about.
