Nicogel is like skin cream with nicotine in it.
What the hell has this world come to? Nicotine lotion? I guess that tobacco companies will do anything now that more people are stopping tobacco use, I guess they are getting desperate for business. I don't think you have to be "the head cashier at Jiffy-Lube" to figure out that if cigarettes cause lung cancer, and dip or chew causes lip and tongue (not to mention other) cancer, than this has to have some horrible side effect also. I'm absolutely shocked that they would allow this product on the market!!!

Anon - IIRC, it's not the nicotine that causes cancer, it's all the other chemicals in cigarettes/chewing tobacco. They're treated with some obscene number of poisonous chemicals (why? Not sure - preservatives/taste-enhancers maybe?), and they're what causes the cancer. Nicotine just makes you feel good :)

Nice product or I should say, strange new product. I think that it can be a solution for every smoker wich like to stop smoking.

Could be a real timesaver if it could be mixed with K-Y: No need for a smoke break after ... you know.

I think its a great idea! Much better than pacthes that fall off. Tried some and its effects are as quick as smoking and I didn't need to smoke for about 4 hours - so it saved me cash too. Go guys! Great stuff

I'm surprised that nobody has even mentioned anything about the packaging and if it is child safe or not.

At last a product that really works. I have been on 3 packs a day for 22 years and now only feel like a smoke 4 times a day now

Nicogel® has many advantage over patches and gums. Unlike patches,
Nicogel® does not offer slow release; its delivery is quicker and more
closely mimics the smoking experience. We recommend you apply
Nicogel® on an as you need it basis. This gives you complete control over when you should apply it i.e. how much or how little, as well as reinforcing your abstainence as you begin to wean yourself off smoking and finally quit. If you are a heavy smoker (>15 cigarettes a day) we suggest applying 2 presses of Nicogel® as and when
the urge to smoke strikes you. Over a period of 14 days work at increasing the period between aplications by 15 minute intervals to 30 minutes. After
between 15 to 30 days you should be able to move to the light smoker regime outline here: Nicogel Regime.

Nicogel is a smoker's godsend!
I work in the medical profession and see many patients with smoking related disorders who just cannot give up.
1) Herbal cigs are useless- they taste nothing like the real thing and have no effect whatsoever on the dopamine receptors of the brain; the hallmark of nicotine action on the nervous system. They're no safer either, because they still deliver toxic fumes to your lungs, so you might aswell smoke tobacco!
2) Patches do not give the hit that cigarettes provide because the nicotine feed is too prolonged and diffuse. I know, because I have also smoked and tried to kick the habit in various ways.
3) Gums and lozenges taste like camel droppings marinated in rabbit urine for ten years. They are safer but a total turn-off, and the user will soon be craving a proper ciggy because it's infinitely more pleasurable.
With Nicogel you really feel like you're having a ciggy without all the fumes, carbon monoxide and carcinogenic toxins. Nicotine itself is the least harmful element in a cigarette, so I can see Nicogel being the most effective and safest alternative to smoking yet, and most importantly fits in with the average smoker's immediate nicotine needs. Nobody wants a drip feed...they need to feel the benefit right in the present moment. I reckon I'll have my own smoking habit eliminated in a few months and will certainly be recommending it to my patients!
And no, I am not on commission and do not have shares in the company...but wouldn't mind knowing how I can get some! This thing is going to be big!

I wonder why this is not marketed as a quitting aid. There must be some reason...all the website mentions is, that it is a 'replacement' for smokers who want to KEEP smoking but cant now and again because of the ban in public places. But most people here reckon it is a quitting aid like the gum and patches. Hmmmmm.

So; fast transfer to your system. ?What about transfer to non users of nicotine? ?Children? ?Handshakes, holding, handling of food products, etc., etc.

Everyone keeps saying that nicotine is harmless.NOT. It is a drug and is not good for your heart. It causes congested heart disease for one. I am a recent ex-smoker (last August). Third time on patches. The biggest help is discipline and will power. I will fight with it for the rest of my life but I do not want to die as my mother and father did with congested heart disease.
I can see the gel being used to quit but not as a replacement. Nicotine kills.

Yeah, I'd say that nicotine by itself is way less dangerous than nicotine delivered in cigarettes or chewing tobacco, but it still constricts blood vessels, and may produce carcinogens in the body even when in a pure extract form. Check out this article -

I am curious about the exact ingredients in this product. What exactly makes it absorbable and what is the impact of that ingredient? How can we be sure that we are not now more vulnerable to absording other environmental agents that can be as or more harmful?
There's a lot that isn't being said here.

Notice that the stop smoking devices like the lozenges and the gum are regulated by the FDA and stay behind the counter. I don't think temporary replacement things like this need to be regulated - it's just a cig in a different form. Can't wait to try it. I'm a lozenge man.

Anonymous 1/17 at 2:47- "Gums and lozenges taste like camel droppings marinated in rabbit urine for ten years."
And cigarettes taste like like what, sugar? The taste of cigarettes is no better than the taste of the gum
"And no, I am not on commission and do not have shares in the company...but wouldn't mind knowing how I can get some! This thing is going to be big!"
You just had to add that in, right? Just to make sure everyone knows, that OBVIOUSLY you have NOTHING to do with this company. And yeah, it is getting big... EVERYONE is talking about it over here!
