GatorGripper

GatorGripperThe GatorGripper is a tool that helps mom or dad extract a loose baby tooth.

You wanna see a child's eyes open wide? Imagine little Molly telling mom that one of her teeth is loose, and dad sitting up from his Lazy-Boy saying, "Honey, go fetch me the GatorGripper!"

It's effectively a spring loaded pair of tweezers. You apply the tail portion of the "gator" to the loose tooth, and release the handle. As the it grips the tooth, it's supposed to pull the tooth out. If the tail slips off, then it the tooth is presumed to be not yet ready for removal.

$14.95 from GatorGripper

  • You could just something inexpensive & normal like have the child eat an apple. Crunchy food makes the tooth fall out if it's ready.

  • No, baby teeth do not always fall out on their own; however, you do not want to take them out too soon either. This looks like a great invention to me, because my son's adult teeth came in behind his baby teeth causing more problems. The baby teeth just wouldn't come out and just aren't easy to pull out like all his peers' teeth. We resorted to using surgical tweezers, which is worst. The first one he almost swallowed and the second flew across the room. Just wish there were retail chains offering the product, instead of having to go to the website.

  • The Gripper is safe. It is not a puller, just allows an adult to get a grip on those little teeth. The tooth must be loose, or the gripper will slide off. We invented this because of door knobs and string. One person told me he tied string to the tooth, then to a rock and threw it. Others have even used rockets.

  • Sure, it sounds neat...But does it actually work? I've just done as my mother did with my 2 sisters and myself. Upholstery thread, a good knot and a short, firm yank. Granted, we only do that when the tooth can be pushed all the way down with the tongue...I've lost a tooth across the room that way though...

  • This is a scam. I bought this product a month ago and can tell you that it does not work. My son needs his first molar tooth removed and so I searched the internet to see if I need to take him to the dentist or the secondary tooth will push it out automatically. I ran across the GatorGripper web site and it sounded too good and easy on the money. I purchased one and received it within a week. The device is a piece of toy made of plastic. The alligator head does not have any thing that can grip the teeth with. As an engineer, I would recommend that you put some type of rubber on the gripper's head so that it can hang on to the teeth. I was embarrassed in front of my wife for purchasing this stupid product and advertised it for a whole week. I finally took my son to a dentist and they used a real metal plier to remove my son's molar tooth. I would suggest that Fern Rossi sticks to being a dentist and leave the design to a real engineer. Stop selling baby toy as a dental product. That thing should be sold at Dollar Tree for $1.
