• Does nobody think this is insanely cruel? These sea monkeys are guaranteed to live for 2 years - but hey, let's wear a live animal around our necks in a "locket" and kill them in 12 hours because it looks "cool". What responsible parent would actually let their child carry an aquatic creature around in a tiny plastic necklace at school?

• That is not right to put a harmless creture in a necklace and were it to school and parties and in public.Who cares if you think its cool.Its still not fair for the sea monkeys!Some animals like dogs or cats would not like to be shoved in a necklace/cage to were for fashion.Thats animal cruelty people.Think how you would feel cramped up in a necklace...not to comfortible.Remember ANIMAL CRUELTY IS NOT RIGHHT!

• They are not real "sea monkeys" but actually brine shrimp eggs that you hatch. They are food for smaller sea life in the wild. People these days especially young kids are so unintelligent these days...such a pity for the 21st Century!

• They have no central nervous system...so i doubt it matters wether they're dead or not, especially considering the abundance. Also, if any of you people saying that 'its cruel to shorten a sea monkeys' life span' had half a brain, you'd know that they were used as fisherman's bait before they were pets....So, in all reality, what the hell is the problem?

• I admit that it probably would be cool to show off that you have sea monkeys, but why on earth would you want to kill them? It is against the law to kill animals, you know, because it's animal cruelty. However, wouldn't you be able to transfer them back into the normal tank so that they can live a normal, healthy life?

I mean, I think animal cruelty sucks just as much as you do, but the sea monkeys don't care as long as they are in water, and you can just put them back in the tank later. • Okay this is not cruel to the sea monkeys.
  
  If they were in the sea, they wouldnt have the food that is provided by humans and would probably get squished or eaten in 2 seconds flat.
  
  And as long as you put them back in a larger tank before 24 hours & keep them in the light [they dont like darkness] then your sorted, and the sea monkey[s] got to have a nice bit of light.
  
  NOTE : no direct sunlight, magnifying glass and sun do not mix, as we all know, cos ya might just end up with frazzled monkey.
  and that WOULD be cruel!

• This is cruel but why would you want a ugly SHIMP in a watch. Also if these are pets think about this. Would you want a dog or cat in a locket. so just make sure you take the little guys out before 12 hrs. Like right after school or somthing.

• hi people, im 10 yrs old n in a couple of days for christmas im getting sea monkeys and i dont think its cruel at all to have sea monkeys, ok yes keeping 1 or 2 in a neclace for so long is cruel and by the way you dont leave them in there for ever u take them out and put them back in their tank after 1 or 2 hours. i know which 1 im getting and im getting a tank that comes with a key ring i can put 1 in and show my friends at skool.its not like when i get home im not going to put them back in their tank, of course am going to. well thats my opininon!! :)

• Who is to say that is right or wrong. It depends on how you use the product. I have a sea monkey necklace and intend to use it in a manner that will not be harmful to any sea monkeys. I am against animal cruelty. Keeping one or two in a necklace designed for them is not going to kill them if it's used properly.

• First of all, i used to think "sea monkeys" weren't real before i realized they were.haha , dumb of me. but now i think they're so kawaii!!!!(cute in japanese), until i searched them on google and they look like jelly fishes!!! not offense sea monkeys! any way my friend said yesterday her mom bought her 70 sea monkey eggs and a tank and one of those lockets.Dudes or dudettes( im not a boy, im a girl), im with ya'll on the animal cruelty, because placing an live animal in a so called plastic "locket" is sooo mean!!!! and my friend told me she was going to bring two sea monkeys to school in that "locket" and probably doesn't even know they're going to die in 12 hours!!!! but she does know they'll die in two years, anyway animal cruelty is so totally mean!

• I agree it's not nice, but it doesn't DIE after 12 hours unless you leave it in there. it says on the instructions not to leave it in for longer. "The unique locket is a water-filled bubble that holds two Sea-Monkeys for up to 12 hours" they mean you take it out after that. your supposed to put it back in the tank!

• Sure, the box says they won't die if you put them back in 12 hours. It also says they'll live for 2 years. It's just a load of crap to earn money. And its not just being put into the locket, bracelet whatever it is, unless you're positive to fill the whole thing up, which in that case, they won't have any air, they'll be pushed around everytime you move. Being flung into a wall of a tiny little container, fun!
