Kingsford Grooved Charcoal

by Steve
Tuesday, December 20, 2005

Matchlight Sure Fire GroovesThe folks at Kingsford Charcoal continue to secure themselves as leaders in the area of BBQ ingenuity with their new Matchlight Sure Fire Gooves charcoal.

They simply cut grooves into their famous briquettes, giving it more burn edges, thus allowing a pile of charcoal to catch flame quickly, heat faster, and burn evenly.

Not only to the grooves provide more burn edges, they channel the air into center of the pile, fanning the fire even faster.

  • I don't like the new charcoal, I prefer the longer burning. I wish they would go back to the old way.

  • We used the new charcoal with a Brinkman Gourmet smoker. It burned through our deck overnight. Burning through 2" X 6"s, then the main supports 2-2" X 8". We were lucky our house didn't burn down.

  • Matt, Sounds like your Brinkman had a pan failure. Sorry about your deck.
