• You keep referring to GWAR in the past tense. They're still around, and still playing. I saw them in Boise, Idaho last year. If you go see them, don't wear clothes you care about. Their stage show is one part Grand Guignol to two parts Troma. Worth a see.

• As a GWAR fan I must chime in. GWAR was indeed a parody of metal bands. They have had a huge following for 20 years and continue to tour and put out excellent albums.

• I have been to several concerts in the last year alone... GWAR hasn't changed at all but their music is heavier their costumes more realistic and the blood gushes forth much more! I myself am preparing to go to Douglas Ed. Center Under the art direction of Savini... • I agree with Anonymous about not wearing clothes that you care about. I have been to several GWAR shows. All you have to do is buy a cheap Fruit of the Loom white t-shirt and go to see them live wearing that shirt. Free GWAR memorabilia.
  
  And my brother is not a fan of metal music at all and I took him to a GWAR show and he had a damn good time. Their stage performance alone is worth going there.
