GWAR Action Figures

GWAR Action FiguresAnyone remember a thrasher/punk band from the 1980's called "GWAR"?

Well, Shocker Toys LLC has purchased licensing rights to develop and sell a set of GWAR action figures.

GWAR was so extreme in its music, lyrics and costumes it was almost like a parody. The band members had outlandish names: Oderus Urungus, Flattus Maximus, Beefcake the Mighty, Jizmak Da Gusha and Balsac the Jaws of Death. These guys made Raiders football fans look like Hare Krishna monks.

This coming Summer, all five GWAR band members will be honored with 6-8 inch fully sculpted figures, and will retail for $15.00 a set. The company is also throwing in a GWAR comic book with each purchase.

You keep referring to GWAR in the past tense. They're still around, and still playing. I saw them in Boise, Idaho last year. If you go see them, don't wear clothes you care about. Their stage show is one part Grand Guignol to two parts Troma. Worth a see.

As a GWAR fan I must chime in. GWAR was indeed a parody of metal bands. They have had a huge following for 20 years and continue to tour and put out excellent albums.

We will make sure the 7 inch line is well done by a sideshow sculptor who did freddy and jason Gwar def deserves this! Our smaller line will be interchangable.

I have been to several concerts in the last year alone... GWAR hasn't changed at all but their music is heavier their costumes more realistic and the blood gushes forth much more! I myself am preparing to go to Douglas Ed. Center Under the art direction of Savini... I post this msg as a fan/blog h/e After I get my degree Oderus and I are finally going to talk future "enslavement" THAT I PROMISE YOU! "HAIL GWAR!"

I agree with Anonymous about not wearing clothes that you care about. I have been to several GWAR shows. All you have to do is buy a cheap Fruit of the Loom white t-shirt and go to see them live wearing that shirt. Free GWAR memorabilia.

And my brother is not a fan of metal music at all and I took him to a GWAR show and he had a damn good time. Their stage performance alone is worth going there.
