LEGO Shaped Eggos

by Steve
Wednesday, February 15, 2006

LEGO shaped EggosThe old saying "Leggo my Eggo" will soon be missing one letter "g" with the arrival of a new co-branded product.

Look at the product photo, and you'll notice a new "LEGO" variety of Eggos shaped into LEGO brick pieces.

The box states, "Toast, break & build!"

No word on when we might see this in stores. The other two new varieties, Blueberry and Flip-Flop, are mentioned on Kellogg's Eggo website, but not the LEGO variety.

  • I've already bought a box of these for my son (we're in the north Atlanta, GA area). They're interesting because they cook a little slower because there is less "waffle" to the texture, and they don't build all that well, but they are very cool.

  • We've been buying these in the Pittsburgh, PA area for over a month. They don't build well at all, but the divisions between the "bricks" make fine cutting points, breaking them up into nice bite-sized pieces.

  • Preface (Saturday morning my son saw the new Ego Lego-shaped waffles on tv and asked if we could get them, so when we went to the grocery store Saturday afternoon I got him a box).

This morning, I make him two of the waffles and gave him both peanut butter and syrup to dip them in...I put the plate with the waffles on it and showed him how to break apart the blocks. He broke them all apart, then looked at them and was visibly not happy...

" Oh SNAP! I can't build with these blocks! These are all rectangles! Where are the squares and triangles? "I can't build this way!"

  • We just bought the new Lego Eggos and my sister and I tried them and both of us feel they don't build well. They taste great but we can get the same waffle taste in regular Eggos and it doesn't cost as much! So, Sydney and I won't buy them again.

  • Today my third graders used the Lego Eggos to learn their mulitiplication tables. They were great to learn 8x's and 3x's . I have some great pictures that I would love to share. I don't think they could have had more fun. Each students received two waffles. They were able to do the 8x1 to the 8x12. I would love to share my pictures wtih your company. After the leasson they loved eating them.

  • How is this considered a "strange" product? I don't understand what is so strange about it. :/
