Liquid Plumr Power Jet is a new drain cleaner (or perhaps drain clearer) that uses the air pressure in the can to blow out pipe clogs.
I just found this at the store last week. It worked great! My only gripe is I probably should have gotten two or more. The blast of air/fluid didn't last very long. All together a good idea.

Unless, of course, you have the problem MOST people have with stuff like this -- and it's not new, I can remember seeing products like it years ago.
The problem is if the clog you need to clear is just PAST the intersection of the drain pipe with a different branch. For instance, my bathtub, washing machine, toilet, and bathroom sink are all on the same ultimate line. If the clog is JUST in one of these, no problem.

One of those didn't work for me. Can only have a flat-top drain, which my tub doesn't and you have to make sure the overflow is properly covered etc.

Folks, if you want a TRULY effective INSTANT drain opener, you need to check out the Kleer Drain Instant Drain Opener by MAG Manufacturing: www.kleerdrain.com or www.magmfg.com.
This product is awesome and works in all types of drains INCLUDING TOILETS, which apparently the Liquid Plumr Power Jet does NOT. Also, it uses food-grade CO2, so it is much safer than the Liquid Plumr Power Jet.
The Kleer Drain Instant Drain Opener is available nationwide at The Home Depot. No poisons, no plungers, no plumbers, no problem!

FYI, if you think you may have a more serious problem, NEVER use a standard liquid plumber type thing or any liquid drain cleaners, especially in the toilet, because they contain lye, and when the plumber goes to snake the drain there is splashback, and if it comes in contact with their skin they can get lye burns, so if you've used it on the drain you have to wait 24 hours before the plumber can do anything. just so you know. ((my uncle owns a plumbing company.))

I don't know anything about how this product works. I do, however, truly admire the folks that dreamed up the ad about the clog dropping onto the plate of the French couple in FRANCE! That was such a great ad, and I will surely buy this product when it's needed. God Bless America!!!

I think that the ad about the clog dropping onto the plate of the French couple in FRANCE is disgusting, and as I have been subjected to this disgusting advetisment to many times I will never buy the product. I have also been telling my co-workers, aquaintences, and friends that I will never buy the product.
I am not French and have never found anything that I like about them, except LaFayette.

As an ordinary housewife I usually don't comment on advertisements. But I find your latest commercial to be the most disgusting ad that has been on tv for many years. How would you like to be having appetizers and wine before dinner and that ad to come on. Come on do you and your compay a favor and pull it from tv. I have called all friends relatives and emailed all I could think of to put a moratorium ony ALL your products until the ad is GONE,,,,

I love the ad about the clog landing on the French couples table! I hope you don't pull the ad just because a few people are a little squeemish about a nasty looking clog. It shows great humor and we can always use more laughter in our day.

I thought the ad was amazing, one of the best, I told my roommate about it and he is French, from Paris and he is dying to see it... I will always remeber this commercial, and for those people that say they will never by the product, lighten up! It is just a commercial.

America is throwing its shit to France... nothing new under the sun.
I was disappointed the clog didn't went further maybe to Spain or Italy, Ah oui, I forgot: the final consumer of this product in America will probably be Spanish or Italian. French don't clog their drain with armpit hair.

This product may be the best thing since sliced bread but I think your commercial is the most repulsive commercial since the Quizino's dumpster diver commercial a few years ago. It comes on at 5:30PM in the evening when people are probably sitting down to dinner. When this ad comes on I change channels. But, of course, this just my opinion.

I agree it's a disgusting commercial. I was so offended I did a Google search to find out if anyone else thought the same. I came up with this page and a few others. The French are still our allies in spite of some differences of opinion with their government. Besides the commercial is just plain gross. As to whether this product works, I remember years ago a company had a similar product and it was discontinued because the air power damaged pipes.

You attatch this to a bottle of coke and watch it explode :D

It's hardly new. I remember buying a product like that in the mid to late '90's. I can't remember the name brand, but you could buy it any supermarket. I guess Liquid Plumr subscribes to the best ideas are the ones that are stolen school of thought.

Don't waste your money. A similar product made by CLR works much better and has numerous applications per can. This product comes in a giant can and runs out of blast almost immediately. Definitely would not recommend.
