James Sooy has developed a new pair of eyeglasses that mounts into the bridge of your nose, via piercing."Paying ... to have someone cut your eyes and shoot a laser in them (just so you don't have to wear glasses) seems extreme to me..."
i like piercings hahaha

This product is really disgusting!!
What if you forget that it is attached to your nose and accidentally snatch it quickly.
OUCH!!
By , at 5/23/2006 12:22:00 AM
shootings lasers is extreme.. on the other hand mutilation your body for this crap is not extreme at all... "NOW I CAN WEAR GLASSES ON THE SHOWER"
By , at 5/23/2006 06:24:00 AM
In a sculpture class a couple of years ago somebody did a "shindogou" (Japanese "un-useless" invention) of glasses that screw into your head, almost exactly like this. Like all shindogou it was meant as a joke.
Now here's this. What does it say about us that minds are being bent to such purposes?
By , at 5/23/2006 01:06:00 PM
Just another facet of attention seeking syndrome....
By , at 5/23/2006 02:42:00 PM
This has been around for a couple of years, though...a Strange Product to be sure, but not exactly New!

WHAT THE F**K !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Corrective eye surgery would be a much better option in my opinion. What are these people thinking? I have body piercings of my own, 3 to be exact, so yes I like the idea of body art, but I think this is ridiculous. Send them to the loony bin, maybe some one can aknowledge their piercing eye glasses there.
By , at 6/01/2006 01:30:00 PM
uhhh what about sleeping, showering, swimming,
By , at 6/03/2006 09:00:00 PM
maybe i could pierce a pen to my finger, or even a toothbrush to my lip and ear,

this is so stuped, how can you have sex with this eyeclasses on theyll only fog up and you wont see who your having sex with.
By , at 6/23/2006 04:30:00 AM
hey this is a novel way to make a piercing into something usefull although very prone to tearing out. obviously the glass would be easily removed for sleeping and what not and to see someone with their lense just floating would be starteling to some. i like to see things that startle me with there unrealness. i have had lasik though and would trade it for this. cool idea like those people with stretched out earlobes should put small speaker in those holes, i bet it would sound good.
By , at 7/08/2006 08:13:00 PM
Someone seriously thought this was a good idea?? You're kidding right?
By , at 7/15/2006 09:01:00 PM
I think this is a really neat idea. I have 15 body piercings, and they almost always bring up conversation. Imagine what kind of converstation I could start with this...
By , at 3/17/2007 03:26:00 PM
i think these are awsome, i havnt had many piercings in the past (just lobes, 1 ear cartilage and an eyebrow that ive sinve taken out) but after seeing these i went out and got the bridge piercing so it would be healed by the time they are available.
Great idea
By Nina, at 4/08/2007 09:18:00 PM
Ahaaaa. Lovely. =]]
I wish someone around here would do that.
Kudos for being original
By , at 6/29/2007 01:41:00 AM
they look sweet
an awesome idea for any piercing fan
By , at 8/15/2007 07:32:00 PM
'this is so stuped, how can you have sex with this eyeclasses on theyll only fog up and you wont see who your having sex with.'
no YOU are 'stuped'
you take the glasses out, duh.
By , at 9/01/2007 01:50:00 PM
from what i understand they are held on by magnets in the actual piercing hardware .. not screwed in or anything.
By , at 9/11/2007 07:04:00 AM
i have my bridge pierced, but am perfectly happy with contact lenses
i read on a website that the lenses are attached to the barbell with magnets, so they could be easilly taken off
pretty cool haha
By , at 9/12/2007 10:10:00 AM
That is really cool stuff. With the current trends towards the acceptability of facial piercings in emerging young business professionals it might actually be a viable product as well.

i think this is a really cool idea. not necessarily something i'd want to do myself, not being particular into piercings, but something i'd definitely be into if i did have piercings. too cool.e
By , at 11/07/2007 05:19:00 PM
alright, the people who find this "disgusting and 'stuped'" obviously are thinking of it in a rather ignorant pattern. Obviously these wouldn't be "screwed" into the bridge of your nose... perhaps you should use a little common sense (and far better grammar usage). Secondly, you may find this ridiculous, that's the beauty of freedom of thought and speech, but I personally find it pretty neat. I'd love to have one, except for the fact that as much as I love piercings, I don't know how I feel about getting my bridge pierced. (although it would give me a pretty neat excuse to get it done)
By , at 11/27/2007 10:37:00 PM
I like and want a set of eyeglasses like this but think a bit of refinement is needed IE the piercing should utilize small magnets on the ends of the bridge piercing for the glasses to be attached to the face instead of needing a screw driver to put them on and off thus minimizing the danger of having the glasses snag on something and causing injury plus making sleeping showering swimming and cleaning of the glasses easier.
By , at 12/04/2007 12:05:00 AM
Judging by most of the comments left, people don't seem to realize that peircings are removable and changable. You don't always have to have the glasses in. And it may not be for everybody. Not everybody likes peircings.

That is a genius idea! I would totally pierce the bridge of my nose just to get those glasses (I already have fourteen piercings).
There should be a lot more people that think outside of the box.
By split-vertebrea, at 1/25/2008 12:33:00 AM
So by my guess, people just post their profanity and crude comments without taking the time to research. The glasses ARE held on by magnets. So that if they get hit, or snatched, or anything else, they can come off without causing damage. And this is a far CHEAPER, SAFER, and more fun method than corrective surgery, by far. (please note when saying things like "safer", Im well aware of the risks, having well over 25 piercings myself, many of which would disgust you FAR more than this. :D )
By CheeseStix, at 2/08/2008 11:10:00 AM
thats cool as hell! i wish i had to wear glasses now! they should do this for shades!
everyone who thinks its so "extreme" and say it's just for attention... you all are just afraid of uniqueness and difference.
and duh... like all piercings... you can take them OUT for showers and sleeping. they're not freaking screwed to your head.
By , at 7/29/2008 08:10:00 PM
Some of you comment as though they are perminant! Like any piercing they can be taken out! As for those of you that think they might be ripped out, the eyeglass part is held on by a powerful magnet. I think as long as you don't work with your head inside of MRI machines, you'll be fine...
Also, ever seen how lasik eye surgery is done?!?!? NO WAY FOR ME! Look it up, it involves slicing the film of your eyeball off and re-attaching it!
And finally, even though it says he wants to get them on the market, it's obviously not meant to become a mainstream form of eye-wear. It would be less expensive than it is now to apprehend and also interesting.
Hey, just think, you won't missplace them now! lol
By nuitdevotremort, at 11/29/2008 02:20:00 AM
theres such things as contacts you know lol
By , at 11/29/2008 03:26:00 PM
Hey i love peircings and i really want to know where i can get these from if anyone knows please email me on mouthyteenager@hotmail.co.uk
By , at 2/07/2009 10:09:00 AM
I think this is an awesome idea. Me being in the body modification business it would not only be interesting but also useful for people such as tattoo artist that need glasses that don't slide off your nose when tatting. I say kudos and everyone else that thinks this is a "stuped" idea should go back to school and realize we are in the 21st century this isn't the half of what is still to come.
By Nick, at 2/13/2009 02:02:00 PM
ewww that is just disgusting to pierce your glasses to your nose thought it would be kinda kool to tell ur friends "Hey guys, now that my glasses are pierced to my face I can take a shower with these on and sleep with them on." and your Friends will be like " Yeah, that's great. Really weird, but great. NOT!" Having your glasses pierced to your face like that is just wrong, but other people have different oppioins and people candp whatever they want to do.
By , at 3/14/2009 07:33:00 PM
I dont have any piercings and I think its a brilliant idea. I haven't been able to stop thinking about it. I think its a brilliant idea.
By , at 6/06/2009 07:17:00 PM
These would be a fantastic idea. Granted, I have 17 body piercings so I'm a little biased but still, wonderful. I have started wearing contacts recently but would happily switch back to glasses if they were like this.
By , at 7/26/2009 06:01:00 AM
where can i get a pair i already have my bridge pierced and i wanted to do that but i didnt know they make it..
By , at 7/30/2009 05:36:00 AM
