A company out in Arizona is now selling wrist rests that you wear on your wrists.
Called, "Wristease", they have a thick piece of padding on the underside that acts like a wrist rest. This way you can bounce back-n-forth to various computer workstations without having to carry your wrist rest with you (a problem that many of us have).
I suppose the other advantage is that you no longer have to pack that lengthy wrist rest in your laptop case, now you can wear it!
And if you're working your butt off, trying to make that deadline, you can use it to wipe off your forehead.

Include a watch, MP3 player, pda and/or phone (with bluetooth, plz) in that nice, thick, comfy looking band, and I could see it becoming a fashion "must"!
Add a nice Lithium battery pack and you could even build some muscle!
This isn't really a new idea. I've been using MouseMitts Keyboarders for, oh, say, 10 years or so.
They're intensely comfortable.
I suffered through carpal tunnel and eventual surgery. My physical therapist told me that wrist rests should really be made of nails or broken glass.
You are supposed to use wrist rests while resting after typing, not during the actual typing. When you rest your hand while typing, you are putting force on your carpal tunnel and restricting the amount of space the tendons have to move.
I wished I didn't have carpal tunnel. oh shista there goes my right wrist again.
Agreed - if people would learn to type properly, wrist rests would not be necessary.
Make 'em 2-1/2 lbs. each and think of the workout. Forearms like Popeye.
These things work great! They a much softer and more comforatable than the ones that are like bowling braces.
wristease is the greatest invetion makes me feel 20- years younger and after typing i put them on my girlfriend so the handcuffs dont leave a mark and now thats what i am talking about no more markes on her wrist thank you wristease nazidog_420
