What's strange about this product is that no one has thought of it yet. At least, that's what the inventor of the product says anyways."I was surprised that this product did not exist already. All of the retailers that I have met tell me it's a no-brainer that this product will sell."Read Press Release.
Obviously, at least one inventor in this world is not familiar with Dorothea Lange's photography. This idea has been around since at least the Great Depression:

My little one could drink/suck from a typical sports bottle cap pretty early on. But, if you are out and about with a little baby who might get hungry, wouldn't you have a baby bottle with you? Even if you didn't bring formula, you could just pout water into the bottle. We didn't carry her diaper bag every where, it was just in the car, but it always had an extra bottle in it.

You just know that most folks who buy this are going to slap it on a Coke bottle and give it to their baby.

I wonder how many adults may start purchasing these for fun(ny) gifts

Water may be essential for children, adolescents and adults to keep hydrated in the summer heat, but for infants, too much water can be life-threatening.
"Breast milk or formula is the only source of nutrition that infants need," says Michael Farrell, M.D., a gastroenterologist and chief of staff at Children's Hospital Medical Center of Cincinnati. "During the first months of life, too much water can upset the electrolyte balance, setting off possible brain swelling and seizures from water intoxication."
In addition, too much water can fill infants' stomachs so they don't get the nutrients they need to grow. This is particularly common in families that cannot afford formula or may dilute it to make it last longer. http://www.cincinnatichildrens.org/about/news/release/2000/7-water.htm

Actually this does already exist and you can find it at www.snacktrap.com. They come in two sizes to fit different size bottle tops.

I've seen this product in Japan many times. I was even on a plane from China to Japan and the couple next to me screwed one on a cold bottle of Japanese Oolong Tea on board that they were serving their baby. I travel that route often and I see this product OFTEN. It's been out for many years. It amazes me how people think they have invented something and work on it even for years, and then I come and google it and hundreds pop up that have been out for years, and they seem totally devastated, totally bewildered as if that's impossible, and sometimes even angered as if you destroyed their idea by showing them it's out already everywhere! They should say thank you, and either continue to pursue their dreams no matter what, or give it up. At least they are better informed. Duh!

This was used in the 40's and 50's. We even used them to feed young lambs and calfs using pop bottles. NOT NEW

It's my understanding baby bottles are supposed to be sterilized for the baby's safety so I wouldn't recommend sticking one of these things on a bottle from some convenience store.
