Flavored Water Straight From the Tap

by Steve
Tuesday, May 15, 2007

Pur Flavor OptionsProctor and Gamble now offers flavor cartridges to its "Pur Water Filtration System", so that your tap water can have fruit flavors.

The Pur Water Filtration System is just one of those water filters that fits on to your water faucet. The new flavor cartridges plugs into the water filter. When you turn on the water, you can press a button to add flavoring to the water.

Flavor cartridges come in Strawberry, Peach, and Raspberry, and provide up to 75 glasses worth of flavoring. The flavoring contains no sugar, no fat, and no carbs.

  • Ha HA excellent. I love flavored water, though it doesn't have grape or lemon yet. I hope they will come with the flavors soon.

  • sure it is an excellent idea

It is not filtered flavor water, it is just a play on words as they are targeting the health nuts. It is flavoring that is pumped into the flow of the water after the "water" has been filtered and then the whole mess is passed out the same spout.

A kitchen faucet is not designed for the type of pressure this system will put on the faucet.

Changing that flavor cartridge to suit everyones taste and that pushing on the faucet.....
Oh boy I can see a major recall or class action suit once everyones faucet starts to leak and or pull out.

Go into your Kitchen and press lightly on your kitchen faucet and think to yourself how long will your kitchen faucet tolerate that kind of abuse.

Buy one if you want, but I shame proctor and gamble for a very bad design and I wonder how much testing they actually did, if any.

  • Way to go Proctor & Gamble for providing something that will really improve the human way. I applaud you for doing what you do best...

  • Our tap water is too disgusting to drink. But I guess if you like "chlorine peach" flavour, then this product would be okay...

I don't understand why people don't like the taste of plain water. It doesn't have a taste! How can you dislike something that doesn't even exist?

  • Seriously? No posts since May?

    WEAK!

  • I don't understand why everyone is so dissatisfied with the regular taste of plain old tap water. Do I live in an unusual town, blessed with outstanding public water? I don't think so, because it usually tastes the same wherever I travel.

Sometimes I just feel like people are getting ripped off for buying bottled water, home water purification systems, etc. Then again, I still love the taste of plain old fashioned milk, and people have been adding flavors to that stuff for years! :)

  • Where does the diet water cartridge go?

Diet water -- no carbs, no fat, no calories -- just like nature intended.

  • How come no updates to this blog - c'mon keep them coming!

By goldcoaster, at 9/16/2007 04:20:00 PM

  • Ridiculous!
What's next? Aromatic air to breath in when perfectly good odorless air won't do?

C'mon guys, nothing quenches thirst like plain simple water. But i am sure P&G will find enough nutcases to at least recover their marketing expense on this no-good product extension.

  • This could've been nice. Too bad the company had to sneak in Aspartame. And why Propylene Glycol? Is that Really safe? What happened to the older days, when Natural meant Natural?

  • I heart flavored water, and scented air is a great idea too!
