New York, NY-based KidKupz LLC is offering a new product called, KidKupz Candy-Coated Medicine Dispensing Cups.
It's a small plastic cup used to dispense medicinal suspensions, but with a layer of candy lining the rim.
Designed to "take the ick out of sick", flavors include Sour Cherry, Blue Raspberry, Watermelon and Green Apple. Each box contains six candy coated cups, with a suggested retail price of $4.99 to $5.29.
The interesting thing is that a pediatrician somewhere actually recommended it.

Here's my reservation... I was born in 1986, and as a child of the late 80s / early 90s, I was prescribed - like many, many... MANY other kids - banana flavoured Penicillin on several occasions.
Now I notice a trend among others around my age group - they either really, really love artificial banana flavour or really, really hate it. Most I think are on the side of loving it. I know I do.
What's going to happen to the spawn of the 2000s when they grow up taking this stuff whenever they're sick?
I guess they'll primarily be addicted to video games, television, and junk foods regardless... only now whenever they're sick when they're older, they'll crave Sour Cherry and wonder why... lol
nope. Not going anywhere.
This is a totally awesome idea. A must have. I can't wait to purchase a bunch!!!
I think this is a great product. We should get kids in the practice of taking tequila shots at an early age. I used to suck on a lemon wedge after taking a shot...I mean dose of liquid medication. Ten or twelve years later and tequila goes down smooth because it tastes better than liquid medication. Why does that stuff taste so bad?
But seriously, I would use this product now. I hate the taste of liquid medicine and the flavored syrups that the pharmacist can add now don't quite cut it. The flavored sugar might taste better because it will stick to your mouth and continue to dissolve. It is also much prettier than a plain plastic cup. However, any enterprising parent can take a plastic cup and make these themselves. Get a cup, dip it in water, and finally dip it in the colored sugar...or salt.
