A man named Randall Dale Chipkar is selling an EMF shield designed to be fitted inside a motorcycle seat.
Did Al "Nobull Prize" Gore research this?

We live in a country where most of the candidates for president profess to disbelieve established scientific principals like evolution, or human-influenced climate change. So it is hardly surprising that a market exists for a device to protect you from a non-existent threat like magical cancer rays.
I think its wonderful - I am going to develop other devices to exploit the stupid or those with a weak grasp of science.

and your a jackass. I think it's perfectly reasonable that this radiation can cause cancer with long term exposure.
By , at 11/28/2007 02:22:00 PM
Chipkar is a cheap crook. I wish I thought of that and earned a lot of money selling snake oil to millions of gullible people out there. Whoever buys his book or "shield" is just plain stupid.

Man! They gave tin-foil hat a new meaning!

We should not miss the point here. If your motorcycle is pushing up to 500 mG of ELF EMF radiation into your groin then there is reason for health concern. Page 2 of the motorcyclecancer site presents facts that cannot be ignored. Riding is dangerous enough and we should not have to gamble with our health on this technical level also. Cancers are becoming an epidemic and ELF EMF radiation is emerging as a recognized carcinogen. To quote the site:
Individual responsibility leads to content accountability. Science proves electromagnetic danger. Now that a type of motorcycle ELF EMF has been exposed, I hope denial is not going to be considered as a solution.
Ultimately the choice is our own to become more educated about these EMF issues.
As for governments and industry keeping people in the dark about emerging EMF health issues, I would like to quote the site again:
Many experts believe existing government regulations are extremely inadequate concerning various EM close exposures and public safety. Unfortunately this can create a false sense of well being for different industries that claim compliance to government standards. Where does that leave the consumer?
I feel that this Chipkar guy is bang on target and time will prove him correct.

A motorcycle's coil-discharge ignition system does create a bit of Radio interference, since it is really a spark-gap radio transmitter, minus the antenna, but there's more danger in crashing that bike than getting cancer from a low-level nonionizing radiation.

Better watch out for car radios too!! I hear they give out 5 times that much radiation!
By , at 4/08/2008 10:37:00 AM
Im sure "Ghost Rider" is the creator of this crap... If this was a problem dont you think we would see a much larger trend of riders with cancer? I call BS!
By Stasis, at 4/30/2008 07:16:00 PM
Hey man, that's a good point but has there ever been a large investigative study of riders with certain types of cancer?
By , at 5/10/2008 08:41:00 PM
I think this explains why I feel more tired than I should after a long ride. A Gauss meter screams to the max when near my running motorcycle. My only doubt is how effective the seat is at blocking the radiation - plus there's little you can do to reduce your leg exposure.
By John, at 9/20/2008 08:56:00 PM
And yeah, you should watch out for radios - definitely don't sleep with one next to your head. Cancer is everywhere now and EMFs are one of the way too many factors.
By John, at 9/20/2008 09:01:00 PM
Yes, I do believe this . Could the lead apron commonly found at the dentist's office or in hospital x-ray labs be modified ( cut to size )and applied over/under the seat , solve or minimize this problem...? Waiting for your comments...

Lead or any metal is inefficient for blocking megnetic fields. They penetrate through everything, hence the health concern. You may want to visit the website where this is addressed. With all due respect this issue is not about radio frequencies.

That just shows how ignorant you are when there are more scientists that dis-believe (based on actual evidence) these things. You and your liberal mind-numbed friends drink your kool-aid but have no actual real idea of how science works. These things are not at all "established" as you say - idiot.

from a science and research point of view... complete bullshit
By , at 7/11/2009 10:57:00 AM
Enough EMFs to give you cancer, yet inadequate in changing stoplights?
Bullshit.

"Lead or any metal is inefficient for blocking megnetic fields."
Very true. The most efficient at blocking electromagnetic fields are conductive metals like aluminum, or steel...
...which the seat pan and chassis are already very likely made of. If you want "protection", line the bottom of the seat pan with aluminum foil and make sure it touches the chassis to ground it.
What a crock of bull.

The truth is, this is unfounded, you want to eliminate EMF's okay then buy a 1910's phone and throw out your cell phone that emits a lot of radiation, and get some basic physics knoledge, radiation isn't 10 cm based in radius, it's a wave, it's range is more than that, that "shield" would only prevent you from having it's cost in your wallet, it's plane stupid.
you recieve a lot more radiation from... guess the sun. Yes it is, if you'd want to know the truth, that test should be done at a controlled enviroment, not a.. garage. Don't mean to be rude but who ever buys this is either, retard, failed high-school or never payed attention to it, has a great deficiency in elemental physics (ask school for a refound), or is just paranoid (get a shrink).

oh wow, so much denial, guess that's to be expected. If you think putting your gonads next to an electrical field is a good idea good luck!
