A company called DG3 Locksmithing based out of Gilbert, AZ has a product called "LockKill", which renders any Kwikset door lock permanently disabled, preventing it from being picked, bumped, or jimmied.
The LockKill is a key with a notch at the end. You insert the key, then turn it, and the end snaps off, remaining lodged inside the lock.
The product is intended to keep evicted renters from reentering a home, until the landlord can get the locks changed.

How does the landlord get back in then? Kick the door in?
I was thinking the same thing.
This product seems like something that could be horribly abused by someone with a grudge against someone else. It's a terrible idea.
Buahahaha I could have some vengeful fun with this one XD
"How does the landlord get back in then?"
Well, you see, the landlord already has a master key and he'd just use his key to...
Aww, Crap!
He get's back in with a pair of pliers or a locksmith that drill a hole in the key hole. Bummer but your getting it re-keyed anyway.
The landlord would obviously get the locks changed, just like it says in the post. I imagine this is for situations where the renter has been evicted and won't give back the keys, so the locks would need to be changed anyway.
